Arora is proud to recognize Donna Guzewski, PE, a Senior Mechanical Engineer, who serves as a mentor for WTS Philadelphia’s Transportation YOU Program<\/a>. Transportation YOU is an interactive mentoring program that introduces young women (ages 13-18) to a number of different careers in transportation. The program strives to motivate those who have an interest in the field and encourage them to pursue courses in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) as the building blocks of a possible career path.<\/p>\n

Transportation YOU participants have the opportunity to explore the importance and excitement of a career in transportation through a variety of monthly events, including seminars, tours, and interactive activities. This past Saturday, the program hosted a tour of the Benjamin Franklin Bridge in Philadelphia, followed by an afternoon of K’nex bridge building. Along with other mentors in the industry, Donna assisted the young women in the building of K’nex truss supports, which lead to a more creative bridge design.<\/p>\n

In addition to lending support and knowledge during these events, mentors serve as professional role models to the next generation of women in transportation. This program hopes to empower women to pursue opportunities in the field and contribute to a diverse and creative future for the transportation industry.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
