Arora Engineers (Arora) proudly celebrates the outstanding achievement of Katelyn Theiss, PE, ACE, who has been honored as one of Airport Business’ prestigious Top 40 Under 40<\/strong><\/a> in 2023 for her remarkable contributions as an Airfield Electrical Engineer.<\/p>\n

The Airport Business<\/a> Top 40 Under 40 recognizes exceptional talents and forward-thinking individuals within the aviation industry, spotlighting those who are shaping success today while paving the way for innovation in the future. Candidates were rigorously evaluated based on their innovation, outstanding qualities, and dedicated involvement in the industry.<\/p>\n

Katelyn joined Arora Engineers in 2022, stepping into the role of an airfield electrical designer. Her arrival coincided with a significant personal milestone\u2014welcoming her second child. Despite this, she achieved remarkable professional feats: passing the demanding PE (Principles and Practice of Engineering) exam, obtaining professional licensure in four states, and completing an extensive curriculum centered on FAA, U.S. military, and international recommendations for Airport Certified Employee-Airfield Lighting Maintenance. Her dedication led her to ace the exam, securing the esteemed AAAE \/ ACE- Airfield Lighting Maintenance certification.<\/p>\n

Within a year of joining Arora, Katelyn’s rapid ascent within the company stands as a testament to her expertise and dedication. She has spearheaded as the lead airfield electrical engineer in several high-profile aviation projects. Notably, she played a pivotal role in the $40 million reconstruction of Taxiway S at Philadelphia International Airport. Furthermore, she took charge of overseeing construction phase services for significant ventures like the $80 million rehabilitation of Runway 6-24 at Lehigh Valley International Airport and the $11.5 million rehabilitation and modification of standards (MOS) for Runway 5R-23L at Rickenbacker International Airport.<\/p>\n

She reflects on her work in the industry saying, \u201cI relish the challenge of crafting tailored, comprehensive solutions for each airfield scenario while considering past, present, and future conditions. Exploring and implementing emerging technologies within the airfield lighting industry across various U.S. airfields has been a rewarding journey.\u201d<\/p>\n
