In honor of Earth Day as well as National Volunteer Week, Arora Engineers, Inc. (Arora) was proud to partner with One Tree Planted<\/a>, the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC)<\/a>, while working alongside the Friends of Wilmington Parks,<\/a> to plant trees at Brandywine Park to restore our environment and create a habitat for biodiversity.<\/p>\n

Volunteers gathered at Brandywine Park early Friday morning to plant native trees and undergrowth on Habitat Hill, located along the Brandywine Creek opposite the Hill, and along Rattlesnake Run between the Hill and the path. The team watched a quick demonstration on how to plant the trees, and then were off!<\/p>\n

Holes were labeled with flags for each tree or plant. Volunteers were involved in a number of steps for the planting process, which is comprised of removing invasive plants, distribute trees, digging holes and dropping the trees into the holes, staking, mulching, and cleaning the grounds. Volunteers also learned how to identify and remove invasive plants commonly found and often problematic. Volunteers helped remove these plants from areas on the Hillside. This helped to facilitate planting as well as reduce invasive plant encroachment in surrounding areas.<\/p>\n

In total, Arora volunteers planted 68 trees. The theme for this year\u2019s Earth Day is: \u201cInvest in Our Planet,” and Arora is proud to contribute to our environment while also fulfilling our mission of Rethinking Infrastructure.
