NEW YORK, AUGUST 10, 2022 – Arora Engineers (Arora), as well as its subsidiary companies EDI and Arora Systems Group, announced today that it recently partnered with Jacmel Growth Partners (Jacmel), a minority-owned, private investment firm focused on working with family-owned businesses. Strategic capital from Jacmel will support Arora’s leadership team as we continue executing on our long-term growth initiatives. Arora, one of the largest minority-owned infrastructure services firms in North America, will continue to be managed by current President and CEO Manik Arora, PE, and maintain its minority-owned business status.

Headquartered in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania, Arora is a second-generation, minority-owned family business focused on working towards its mission to Improve the Quality of Life by Rethinking Infrastructure®. Arora’s core infrastructure markets are experiencing exceptional growth, supported by the recently passed historic $1.2 trillion Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (“IIJA”), which will be critical to advancing a healthy economy and improving the quality of life for all citizens. Arora is well-positioned at the center of this market with its 15 locations worldwide and consistently ranks as an ENR Top 500 Design Firm, as well as one of BD+C’s top ten airport facility engineering firms in the U.S.

“We’re excited to support the growth of Arora and have a deep conviction in Manik and his team’s long-term vision of rethinking the future of infrastructure. The firm is actively changing the type of impact and service clients have come to expect from a multi-disciplined engineering firm, and they’re seen as a leader across the aviation, transportation, education, government, and commercial sectors,” said Nick Jean-Baptiste, Founder and Managing Partner at Jacmel Growth Partners. “At Jacmel, we believe in partnering with companies with ambitious founders who have a strong desire to grow and give back to communities, and Arora’s history reflects that. Arora’s story is inspirational, and our team is looking forward to contributing to their future success.”

Arora was founded by Mike Arora in 1986, with leadership later being passed down to Manik Arora, Mike’s son. Manik has been with the business since 1993, including 10 years at PHL Airport helping lead capital programs. When Manik was named CEO and assumed control of the firm from his father in 2006, his goal for the future was rapid growth on an international scale. Under Manik’s leadership, Arora has grown over 1100% in revenue over the last decade and strategically established branch offices in major cities across the globe. At Arora, the enthusiasm staff bring to their work extends beyond their own projects and into the goals and needs of the communities in which Arora does business. Arora is actively involved with the local communities they serve through partnership and volunteering with regional organizations such as the Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS), the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMPTO), the Airport Minority Advisory Council (AMAC), the National Society of Black Engineers, Liberty USO, March of Dimes and One Tree Planted.

“We’re thrilled to have the support of Nick and the Jacmel team as we embark on the next phase of Arora’s growth. We are particularly impressed by the firm’s dedication to helping minority and family-owned businesses through strategic capital investment that aligns with the growth needs of the companies they serve,” said Manik Arora, President and CEO at Arora. “They have an impressive track record of successful coordination with management teams and, with their strong technical and growth-oriented expertise, we’re confident that we can sustainably build upon our legacy of delivering excellent client service and giving back to the communities we service.”

Jacmel partnered with Musick Capital, a private investment firm founded by Eliott Musick with deep expertise across the infrastructure and engineering sectors. Jacmel received financing from KeyBank to complete the partnership arrangement with Arora. Morrison Foerster served as legal counsel for Jacmel while Ballard Spahr represented Arora on the transaction.

CHADDS FORD, PA – Arora’s service offerings have expanded beyond systems engineering to emphasize the criticality of asset data and the technology and processes that connect systems infrastructure and improve operations for our clients. In an effort to provide asset data solutions more seamlessly for our customers, we are excited to announce the reorganization of our technology divisions— Electronic Data, Inc. (EDI), Arora Technology Group, LLC (ATG), and Arora’s Geospatial Practice into one consolidated division, Arora’s Enterprise Solutions Group. This reorganization of our existing divisions is a natural progression to break down internal silos and create a cohesive group encompassing all of our asset data experts to help our customers navigate the future of design, construction, and operations.

The group is led by our Vice President, Steve Bisch who has over three decades of experience in the design and implementation of enterprise asset management systems (EAM), GIS, software development and facilities maintenance and manufacturing operations management for large organizations.

The sole mission of Arora’s Enterprise Solutions Group is to provide asset data expertise to guide our clients in generating and leveraging the data created during design and construction for more efficient operations and maintenance and prepare them for the implementation of modern automation technologies such as virtual reality or a Digital Twin. Our core services include GIS, enterprise asset management implementation/management, mobile integrations, cloud migration, and work order management services for clients in sectors ranging from aviation to life sciences and everything in between. Our services help clients to increase revenue, maintain safety, and achieve overall operational efficiency, all while complying with local, state or federal regulations.

We understand the challenges organizations face to acquire, assimilate and organize the data required to properly operate and maintain their facilities through accelerated complex design and construction projects, and we have the experience and expertise to help our clients leverage technology to establish world-class operating and maintenance procedures and accelerate their return on investment through our innovative Data Interoperability (DI) process.

Arora’s DI services are led by our Subject Matter Expert, Scott Yates, who has decades of experience in facilities maintenance and asset management. Our approach to DI begins with developing a roadmap unique to our each of our clients’ organizations to define standards and processes. These standards ensure the data generated throughout the design and construction process is in the correct format to allow our clients to harness the asset data created on large capital projects. This asset data is often lost in the handover from design and construction teams to owners who rely on that data to operate and maintain these expensive facilities.

Our team works closely with project owners and design and construction teams to establish data, GIS, BIM and handover specification standards to help bridge the gap between the capital project acquisition process and facilities management to ensure our clients’ facilities are ready to go on day one with all the data needed to run a world-class operation – all while saving millions of dollars over the life of the project and the facility compared to the traditional method.

The result is an owner’s dream: a complete, accurate, and structured set of Location and Asset data, plugged into real-time conditions and performance monitoring representing the facility, supported with a navigable 3D model, to be used for managing the operation and maintenance of the facility.

Imagine having a report of a plumbing problem in a specific room and being able to float, on screen, through a 3D model of the piping to isolate, identify and attach the components that need to be added to a work order simply by clicking on them. Also imagine being a technician assigned to address the problem and, instead of having a text-based narrative of where the problem might be, you have a 3D drawing of exactly where the impacted assets are and how they connect/relate to each other. This is just one of the many EAM use cases that is significantly enhanced by harnessing the power of data interoperability.

CHADDS FORD, PA – Building upon decades spent Rethinking Infrastructure®, Arora Engineers, Inc. (Arora) formed Arora Technology Group, LLC (ATG) in 2016 to help our clients centralize the critical asset data collected by their disparate smart systems.

After 5+ years of agile development in close coordination with clients from multiple market sectors, ATG has established Arora ATLAS®, an enterprise level suite of mobile products designed to simplify and enhance asset management through the seamless convergence of asset and location data. Following the successful implementation of ATLAS for numerous national clients, ATG is debuting the platform’s first three modules – ATLAS Fix, ATLAS Inspect, and ATLAS Supply. These on-the-go mobile tools are helping our clients to rethink mobile maintenance, inspections, and supply chain.

Arora ATLAS® Fix activates your maintenance operations by connecting work management and location services.

Arora ATLAS® Inspect enhances your inspections by enabling location services.

Arora ATLAS® Supply enables real-time inventory management through mobility and location services.

The ATLAS platform combines GIS mapping, integrations with leading Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) providers, and data collected by a unique combination of sensors and processes. This information is used to identify required maintenance, understand user flow for the coordination of maintenance schedules, and provide valuable, real-time statistics to facility managers. The platform allows stakeholders to track assets, analyze staff coverage, and ensure timely responses to incidents by combining data from previously disconnected systems to create a unified information platform.

“We focus on helping to integrate facilities with their systems and technology, which provides consistent communication between operators and customers, as well as a constant, reliable flow of information from the building itself to its stakeholders,” said Manik K. Arora, PE, chief visionary and leader of Arora and its subsidiaries. “Our primary goal is to support the directors and project managers who want advanced technology in place to better manage complex day-to-day functions.”

ATLAS is a product resulting from 35 years of ingenuity, developed with insight from the professionals at Arora who identified a need among their clients for a mobile integration tool that gives facility managers a wholistic view of the data they need most, all in one easy-to-use mobile interface. ATLAS provides stakeholders with access to actionable information that helps reduce operational expenses, streamline processes, manage systems and teams more effectively, and improves the experience of customers and technicians alike.

The Information provided by ATLAS is presented in a way that supports smart decisions for smarter infrastructure, ultimately creating a smoother customer experience. ATLAS was recently deployed by a Large Hub US Airport to do just that.

This airport sought a partner to help them to maximize their Maximo EAM software. Between incomplete data and inconsistent processes, many groups within the organization were struggling to adopt the system as a natural part of day-to-day operations. They needed a partner to help them address the department’s most pressing needs. These included improved financial management via reliability centered maintenance, airport regulatory compliance, terminal inspections, safety management, transitioning away from paper-based processes, and integrations with their GIS systems.

ATG implemented the ATLAS Fix and Inspect modules, in conjunction with Electronic Data, Inc. (EDI), a subsidiary of Arora. These modules assisted the airport in migrating from their previously under-utilized system, which resulted in delayed work start times, lost work orders, bypassing the work order system, and lack of data for performing data analysis. These mobile solutions assisted the authority in performing documented maintenance activities. The Fix solution helped this airport client improve their work order process, while the Inspect solution helped the authority perform critical terminal inspections. Learn more about this specific implementation in one of our upcoming project spotlight pieces.

Contact ATG today to allow our team to help your organization consolidate the critical asset data you need all in one easy-to-use mobile interface. Our experts will work with your team to determine which Arora ATLAS® modules are most appropriate for your facility to not only meet the complex needs your facility today, but for years to come.

CHADDS FORD, PA – Arora Technology Group, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Arora Engineers, Inc., is expanding the scope of their services and working to make systems infrastructure smarter and more connected to better serve their clients. Specifically, in aviation, the firm is employing the use of new geospatial technologies and identifying the processes that connect airport systems to improve operations and enhance the passenger experience.

The firm is Rethinking Infrastructure® by connecting previously disparate systems through process based integration using the Arora ATLAS® platform. This methodology allows campus infrastructure in Aviation, Education and Transportation to realize the value of the data generated by the wide variety of sensors and systems in use throughout their enterprise.  Specifically, in airports, by creating actionable information and providing it to stakeholders through multi-channel delivery mechanisms, the ATLAS platform enables more efficient and effective operations that improve passenger experiences, increase non-aeronautical revenue and reduce operational expenses.

Arora Technology Group recently adopted the Atrius™ IoT framework from Acuity Brands to enhance and expand the capabilities of the Arora ATLAS platform.  The ATLAS platform leverages a wide variety of sensors and devices enabled with Atrius (part of the Atrius Sensory Network), and Atrius Platform Services (such as indoor positioning) to collect data from an airport’s building systems, passenger boarding bridges and other connected IoT networks.  The collected data is then processed through the ATLAS platform, combined with other relevant data and used to improve airport operations.

“We are very proud and excited to work with Acuity Brands, Inc. and to continue to expand the scope of our capabilities and services,” says Manik Arora, PE, President & CEO. “The continued partnership of these enhanced products and platforms will help us to significantly advance the future of intelligent infrastructure, and allow our clients to improve their business operations and provide a first-rate experience to the public.”

As Arora Technology Group continues to expand the capabilities of Arora ATLAS, this adaptable platform will be able to connect a variety of systems in the built environment and allow for critical data to be delivered to stakeholders when needed. This data integration and delivery is critical to enhancing intelligent infrastructure and will play a pivotal role when discussing the future development of “smart cities.”
